Rootpad risks: read before you use it

Rootpad is not authorised or supervised by Banco de Portugal, the CMVM or any other financial authority.

This is a test version (testnet). It uses test ETH with no value. Do not send real funds.

1. You can lose money, even all of it.

A meme coin's price can drop close to zero within minutes. Most new coins lose most of their value.

2. The Root vault does not protect you from losses.

  • The Root is an ETH vault tied to each coin. Any holder can burn tokens and receive their share, minus an exit fee of 2% that stays in the vault.
  • The redemption value can be far lower than what you paid, especially if you bought after the price went up.
  • The vault fills up with trading: with no volume it stays small.
  • Other people's redemptions take ETH out of the vault.
  • Gas can cost more than you receive on a small redemption.
  • The value of ETH itself goes up and down.

3. The contracts may have bugs.

The contracts are immutable: nobody can fix them. A bug or an attack could cause the loss of the vault, the liquidity or your tokens. Not yet audited. An audit reduces risk; it does not remove it.

4. Coins are created by third parties.

Anyone can create a coin. Rootpad does not check, approve or recommend any of them. Fungi signals are automated checks, not guarantees. A coin with no risk signals can still lose all its value.

5. Fees.

Every trade pays 1%: 0.5% to the vault, 0.3% to the creator and 0.2% to Rootpad. In each coin's first seconds an anti-sniper fee starts at 30% and drops by 1 point per second. The creator gets their share even with zero tokens. All of this is shown before every transaction.

6. There may be no buyer.

Liquidity can dry up and you may not be able to sell at the price you see.

7. The network and the site can fail.

Robinhood Chain, RPC providers, your wallet or this site can go down or slow down. Transactions can fail and gas is not refunded.

8. Scams.

Fake copies of coins and of Rootpad exist. Always check the contract address. Never share your seed phrase: nobody from Rootpad will ever ask for it.

9. No compensation schemes.

Nobody pays back what you lose: crypto-assets are not covered by investor compensation schemes or deposit guarantee schemes.

10. Not advice.

Nothing on Rootpad, in our posts or in the answers of Dig (an AI agent) is financial, legal or tax advice. You decide on your own and you are responsible for your taxes.

11. Who cannot use Rootpad.

People under 18 and people subject to sanctions.

12. No affiliation.

Rootpad is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected with Robinhood Markets, Inc. or its group companies. "Robinhood Chain" is a Robinhood trademark, used here only to identify the network Rootpad runs on. Rootpad does not use Robinhood logos.
